Hello Mark.

My name is Rhys and I am a young professional looking for a career change as I recently lost my job it has given me a kick to move with a blog website which I have had developed to generate traffic to see whether my product is wanted.

I just had a look in my inbox and came accross your email directing me to your video. It was worth the 8 mins as it gave me some new inspirations to crack on with my site. I've been pondering on how to my message accross in the right way and to the right audience. I must come up with some good ideas. I will now start to build my articles on my site and get it out there.

Off the subject. "being a lancashire lad myself from Bolton now living in South Wales it was good to hear the accent again! ill be checking back again. and who knows once I start to earn money finding a job i can become an inner circle member.

Thank you for your inspiration Mark.

Hi Mark - another great episode !

Something that I have noted in the past when working with newspapers and magazines is that not only does it help if you can provide some "background" (ie "research" that the newshound can make use of) - but also photography.
In some markets - such as mine for sportfishing - a picture really does tell a thousand words, and getting some high quality pics that dd to the story often makes the difference between getting it placedor not.
Of course it is better if you can get the mag to come and shoot their own - as you managed to do - but often that is just not practical............so offering some good photography sometimes really helps

best, kjs

I have really enjoyed the show again and I'm learning something new every week!

Utilising the local press is a great idea and one that works well in my business. A point worth bearing in mind is that a lot of local press are struggling at the moment and so they are placing a heavy emphasis on their 'on line' news articles. I operate some golf tips on line which receive a decent number of regular hits every week and in return they keep my profile and website details on visible at all times. Its a great 2 way street, I can offer some valuable PROFESSIONAL advice at no chagre and they can offer a unique SERVICE to their readers.

Keep up the good work!

Very well done Mark.. However having worked in the Newspaper industry, i can assure you that reporters are far from 'lazy'. They work too strict deadlines and have to fill the paper with newsworthy articles every single day.. Perhaps a better comment might have been always up for a suggested story, a bit finicky i know however none the less you brought a good angle for attaining free advertising.
all the best ck

That was a fantastic story how Mark was able to get free publicity for Duncan McDonald, it just shows you what can be achieved just by keeping your eyes open for opportunities that may well be sitting right in front of your very eyes.
